Its almost time when the pups start there new lives with there new families, and a new journey will begin for them. New surroundings with no litter mates to hang out with, and they will get their own name to carry on for the rest of their lives. Sometimes animal names can stand for something special to the owner. I can remember when Chaos was just a pup and I took her to the ballpark and she was laying in the dugout during my game and someone came up to her and said, what is your name little puppy? I said her name is CHAOS and they looked at her and replied oh you must get yourself in all kinds of trouble to be named Chaos. Chaos looked right back at him and thought to herself. Listen mister see that lady over there named Judy she named me that because she's the one causing trouble not me I'm far from a trouble maker! Well in my eyes I always like having a strong dog with a great name to others they might be different. So go with your heart and enjoy everything about your new best friend.
Here at JJ K9 Ranch we have a lot to be thankful for we have great K9's. Chaos, Nero, Chief and Havoc oh yea and of course Uncle Okie a German Shepherd in mind not body. Chaos and Nero have given us a great litter, they have given us many special moments from the time of birth to the daily routine of caring for them. So many laughs just watching them go from there indoor puppy pen to what they call puppy heaven, that's there outdoor arena of puppy events such as wrestling, tug of war, puppy dog pile and what they like the most is seeing how fast they can run. These pups are so special to us for many reasons they are from Chaos last litter and Nero very first litter ever. We've had a lot of exceptional pups leave JJ K9 Ranch but these have what it takes to be great K9's and I'm thankful for all there new family's that have been waiting for them before they even took there first breath. One special pup 1st pick male will be going home to a return customer who own's one of are grand pups Zoe Chaos mother to both of them but there father are from two different country's. Zoe dad is Czech and of course Nero West German. Every one of these four pups are heading up to Northern California to great homes and families and that is what makes this Thanks Giving so special to us this year.
It's me again . . . Nero. I can really get use to this computer stuff, I'm letting Chaos take a little break and relax out back. I'm trying to be a good partner and help out with the pups. Since she carried them for 63 days and nursed them for close to 4 weeks. I'll be a good papa and hold down the fort. All we have is 2 weeks to go before our pups leave the ranch. So as the sun rose this morning I made sure Chaos was all happy in the back yard with her pink bear. And I watched Judy move the pups from the puppy room to the out door puppy area. Then Judy started getting ready to head out to service are vending machines, she called me and said let go to work Nero. I jumped in the truck and we started to pull away from the ranch. I yelled out from the back of the truck, see Chaos I don't have it as easy as you might think I do work around here and support you and are pups. Once we returned home Chaos, Chief, and Havoc were all sun bathing and I sniff under the puppy pen fence all I could see is 16 paws move so fast from one side then the other. All of a sudden a piece of paper was slid under the fence. It read "Hey Papa can you please toss over some raw hides were running out of stuff to chew" I thought to myself those pups are running out of stuff to play with. Then it dawned on me it's Uncle Okie time he's the man for the job. He can entertain the pups from sun up to sun down. There at the right age now and will be able to give him a run for his money. Can't wait to see this I'll be rooting for my pups! Sorry Uncle Okie it's time for you to dust off your running shoes and have the first aid kit handy.
Chaos had to step out of the office for a minute so since I saw her already getting ready to send out her blog. I'm going to send one before she returns, It's me the puppies father Nero, well the pups have been enjoying the fresh air and lots of room to run in there new puppy area during the day. Judy puts them out first thing in the morning with their morning breakfast and all there toys. The puppy area is right outside the master bedroom all enclosed from the main yard. So Chief, Havoc and I can sniff them under the fence and they can slip us notes of what they would like us to throw them over the fence. They can't see us yet, but Judy did let me in the bedroom so I can view them thru the window. I sat there and stared at them running around playing with each other I was so happy looking at my own flesh and blood all big and healthy tearing it up. One day soon when Judy let's them run out in the main yard I can meet each one of them face to face. Oh no! I hear Chaos coming back in were is the send button? Found it, please don't tell her.....Thanks Nero proud papa...
Nothing's better then laying by a crackling fire all night long feeling the warmth on my fur, the pads of my paws all nice and toasty. Being surrounded by pictures of my offspring from past puppy customers that have sent Judy gifts of there loyal loving K9 that has my special blood running thru them. My life has been so great and what makes it even more special is knowing that all my past pups have all gone to great homes and loving families ! Ever since I started breeding all my pups have been spoken for, before being born there has been a long list of families waiting for their first breath along side of us at JJ K9 Ranch. I know it takes two to tango so I do have to give some credit to the stud's that Judy has chosen for my romantic nights of conception. And of course Judy for handling all sales of the pups around JJ K9 Ranch. Can you believe she use to sell cheese for a living and now she runs her mobile grooming business and is the founder of JJ K9 Ranch she must also have something special running thru veins. Charlie Sheen has tiger blood well Judy has German Shepherd blood! Its before sunrise now and I hear the pitter patter of little paws running around in the puppy room and some full on tackles its going to be another fun filled day enjoying every last minute with my pups, before they leave us in a few weeks from now. Oh yea and the best part of knowing how special I am is as I lay here all warm and cozy enjoying the life as Chaos is seeing out of the corner of my eye. . . Nero, Chief and Havoc outside on the patio all next to each other keeping warm by laying beside one another. Looks kinda cold out there maybe I should have Judy invite them in for a bit? No I'm just going to lay here and act like I can't see them and try to get a few more winks in before my day starts here at JJ K9 Ranch.
Have any of you ever watched that show Man vs Food? Well this last weekend its been K9 vs Puppies at JJ K9 Ranch and puppies have been winning. As we all know I'm the new sheriff in town on left over patrol and all was going well, until pups started cleaning off there puppy dish spotless! The last 3 feeding times I've struck out I fill like Pete Rose in a batting slump but I'll always run right back over there as fast as I can the next feeding time. But I'm scared to look over into the puppy box as there chowing down all I hear is yum yum yum and all that licking of the bottom of there dish. All I can do is look up at Judy as she watches the puppies eat and give her some sad German Shepherd eyes and "Say Hey Women throw a dog a bone will you?" What can I say my pups learned how to eat from watching me, so I don't mind that I've lost to them. So this K9 will be alright getting defeated by her offspring!
I'm loving my new job title at JJ K9 Ranch, other then me just being a walking pacifier I'm on Leftover patrol. I never had this job title since my last two litters were 9 then 8 pups, but since this litter is 4 pups I'm eating me some leftovers. Now I'm making sure when Judy is making them up a dish of food she puts more then they can eat. I have to remember how miserable I felt at 112lbs so I better watch myself close so I can keep my nice k9 figure. Oh there goes Judy heading to the puppy room to get there dish, my next shift is about to begin I got to go! Um I wonder if I can wear a badge for my new position?
Another week has flown bye, my pups are now 4 weeks old and are pretty much on their own. Judy made them up a special treat today some can puppy food. Boy the puppy box got so quite I had to poke my head over to see if they were all still in there. Each one of them enjoying every bite of there dinner and then walking over to there water dish to wash it all down. Then once there belly's were full they all fell asleep like after a big thanksgiving dinner. So I went over to my place by the fireplace and looked over at Judy and ask her, does that mean my job is over? My pups are independent and don't really need me anymore! Is it time for Uncle Okie to step in my place and watch over them. Judy said don't be sad Chaos your pups still need you for another week or so. Then I heard music to my ears my pups started crying for me, Judy carried them over and they each took a empty milk jug in there mouth and fell asleep. There is no more milk in me for them, but I'm a walking pacifier for them. Its nice to have duel purpose milk jugs for them.
Tonight since my pups have had a free run on the household at JJ K9 Ranch...they were all running loose in the house and feeding off of me at their pleasure. Once I was able to get them under control and whistled for them to pay attention. They all came to a sudden stop and focus on what I was trying to say, "Listen boys and girls if you take a second out of your busy puppy day take a look to your right and right outside of the patio door is your daddy Nero vom Amselstrauch"...they all came to a running halt as if they were amazed with his manhood they all laid down and listen to what he had to tell them. He said "I know my sons and daughters its been over 3 wks since you were born and just now I'm able to speak to you thru a screen door and a patio door, So listen up pups you've came from the best pedigree around I was trained the K9 Police Work and your Mama's daddy was also Imported in for K9 Police Work". Nero said, "So understand one thing pups don't second guess your nose or your work ethic its in your blood pups and if all of a sudden you might hear some polka music playing in a distance and feel the grove. Well it in your blood pups your West German thru and thru don't fight the feeling embrace it and remember it will only bring respected later on in your life as all the on lookers admire your great looks and even temperament and training."
Now I'm not bragging but I'm very proud of my 4 pups! Usually my pups don't start climbing out of there puppy play pen until 4-5wks of age. Well were just at 23-24 days, and my pups kept Judy Busy last night every few hours there was a puppy walking thru the kitchen into the family room to join us. So today when Judy woke up she went and found the wooden piece they use to cover the entry to the puppy box. Well that should keep them in for at least a few more weeks till they learn how to scale there next obstacle. Maybe its because I only had four pups to feed with my super power puppy milk that there ahead of the game. I'm still feeding them just enough to help me get the rest of the milk out of my milk jugs. And at each feeding Judy makes up a dish of smashed puppy food with additional puppy milk mixed in. They all love that stuff what I saw happen at the last feeding was each pup grabbed the puppy dish trying to carry it away for themselves! Judy actually has them coming to her voice already when called, she is very happy with what these pups have shown her at such a early age. So I will enjoy watching what the next 5 weeks will bring us and then the sadness mixed with joy when they all leave the ranch.
