Tonight since my pups have had a free run on the household at JJ K9 Ranch...they were all running loose in the house and feeding off of me at their pleasure. Once I was able to get them under control and whistled for them to pay attention. They all came to a sudden stop and focus on what I was trying to say, "Listen boys and girls if you take a second out of your busy puppy day take a look to your right and right outside of the patio door is your daddy Nero vom Amselstrauch"...they all came to a running halt as if they were amazed with his manhood they all laid down and listen to what he had to tell them. He said "I know my sons and daughters its been over 3 wks since you were born and just now I'm able to speak to you thru a screen door and a patio door, So listen up pups you've came from the best pedigree around I was trained the K9 Police Work and your Mama's daddy was also Imported in for K9 Police Work". Nero said, "So understand one thing pups don't second guess your nose or your work ethic its in your blood pups and if all of a sudden you might hear some polka music playing in a distance and feel the grove. Well it in your blood pups your West German thru and thru don't fight the feeling embrace it and remember it will only bring respected later on in your life as all the on lookers admire your great looks and even temperament and training."
Now I'm not bragging but I'm very proud of my 4 pups! Usually my pups don't start climbing out of there puppy play pen until 4-5wks of age. Well were just at 23-24 days, and my pups kept Judy Busy last night every few hours there was a puppy walking thru the kitchen into the family room to join us. So today when Judy woke up she went and found the wooden piece they use to cover the entry to the puppy box. Well that should keep them in for at least a few more weeks till they learn how to scale there next obstacle. Maybe its because I only had four pups to feed with my super power puppy milk that there ahead of the game. I'm still feeding them just enough to help me get the rest of the milk out of my milk jugs. And at each feeding Judy makes up a dish of smashed puppy food with additional puppy milk mixed in. They all love that stuff what I saw happen at the last feeding was each pup grabbed the puppy dish trying to carry it away for themselves! Judy actually has them coming to her voice already when called, she is very happy with what these pups have shown her at such a early age. So I will enjoy watching what the next 5 weeks will bring us and then the sadness mixed with joy when they all leave the ranch.
Today my human grandma Ruth puppy sat while Judy hit the road for work, I helped her water the front and backyard then I laid down in front of the TV while she watch the news. Once the pups woke from their afternoon nap she brought them out to me to feed talk about room service it can't be better then that! After the pups finished eating and returned to their puppy play pen I sat at the patio door and notice Chief and Havoc was enjoying there new dog area outback then I glanced over to the Stud pen where Nero goes well company is over and I didn't see him at all. I grabbed Judy's reading glasses from the counter to see if I could see him laying down in his dog house. He wasn't there, That dirty RAT I bet he went to work with Judy! I know I have pups on the ground and Chief and Havoc might have pups in their belly's. Just because he's a Male with no responsibilities he has all the fun around here. It must be my hormones speaking because I know Judy is always fair with all of us. I have it made I always sleep indoors even when I don't have pups so I'll let this one slide.
These past 21 days have flew by for me and my pups! Only a few more days before their little shark like teeth start coming in. Judy has been rotating them between my milk jugs and smashed up puppy food and to are amazement there enjoying eating on there own but they still need there mother around for at least 7 more days, until I know there eating enough without nursing off of me. Then I can walk away feeling like my job is complete. I'm not saying I punch my time card and clock out. I will always be here for my pups I'll just be able to take a seat and watch them from a distance well they start to become independent showing us what strong German Shepherds they will become. I will always remember my final litter before my retirement.
I have to apologize to everyone, I know we've been slacking on posting new pictures and videos! its because my human aunt Cindy went on vacation to Tennessee and she is the webmaster. See she would usually swing by the ranch and take photos and check in on us then run home and post them. Well its still suppose to work that way Judy's still taking pictures and video's but hasn't downloaded her chip to email the info to Cindy so she can post. I promise I will be having a talk with Judy later and make sure she emails all the info needed to post new stuff on puppy page. I know Judy has a lot of stuff going on like her Mobile Grooming Business and JJ K9 Ranch helping me and the pups in between work. I know for a fact Judy only has one customer stop tomorrow unless the K9 academy calls her in, so I will make sure to carry her camera over to her and give her the German Shepherd stare down until I see her download those photo's for everyone. Other then that pups are doing great playing in puppy box Judy smashed up some puppy food for them tonight to see if there ready to start weaning off of me. There teeth will be in shortly and if all goes well I will not have to get pierced by there sharp little puppy teeth at all. You might think giving birth to a litter is pain full well its not those little jaws with sharp teeth take the cake.
Its official the mail man just delivered Nero AKC registration. Its been a long journey for him from West Germany were he was trained for 3 1/2 years for K9 work then being shipped in to the K9 Academy for law enforcement work. And his lucky day was when Judy noticed him. She was grooming at the K9 Academy when a new shipment arrived. He may not be a K9 officer now, but he still works and trains weekly with Judy in fact I noticed she was getting all his gear ready for Saturday morning he can't wait to hit the field and train. The bite work part is his favorite it also use to be my favorite part. But these days my teeth are only used for smiling! Next time I go outside and see Nero I will let him know he is now a AKC member and is legal in the united states.
As I jumped into my puppy box last night. I was being chased by a mob of German
Shepherd puppies! Thank God John built me a very large puppy box there was plenty of room for me to try to get away from them. They were all standing up straight walking tall reaching for my milk jugs almost bringing me down to their level. I was messing with them right when they thought I was going down I would take a few steps to the right. Those little paws can move fast now, after a few times of doing that I gave in and rewarded them with a take down for a snack. At only 15 days old these pups are exceptional.l Their little ears are pointing out words their barking and growling plus a few howls have been belted out that's there way of calling me into the puppy room. As I fell asleep next to my pups I was one proud mama. I never seen 16 small paws move so fast!
Yesterday didn't go as planned. Judy woke up sick as a dog coughing, sneezing and sore throat! I guess everything has caught up to her caring for me and the pups. So it was time for me to step up to the plate and take care of her. I made sure she was able to rest all day I told the pups to keep it down today so she won't have to get up and check on us. After a few hours I walked over to her to check on her she was fast asleep I put my paw on her forehead and she felt like she was burning up! I ran back to the puppy room and grabbed my thermometer and carried it back over to her. Now we all know where this thermometer has been, Yes in my behind thank God she is dead asleep because if she wakes up and sees me trying to use this on her she might just get mad at me. I better come up with another plan maybe I can get her to roll over for me and try it the old school way? Oh no she waking up, I dropped the thermometer and kicked it with my paw under the sofa. I didn't want Judy to see what I was trying to do. She saw me and said "what Chaos you have to go outside for while?" She let me out so I told Nero, Chief, Havoc and Uncle Okie that Judy is sick and to keep the horseplay to a minimum tonight. We need her to feel better she has a lot of police dogs to groom this week and we need are dogs in blue looking and smelling good on patrol. Plus the longer she is sick the less time she will be able to spend with us! I then notice coming out of Nero's dog house he had his music on a little loud. I said "come on Nero I know you've only been here with us since June but please keep your polka music down a bit." I think everyone got the picture if not I will be putting my paw down a little harder later tonight. That is why I'm Judy's number one K9 I take care of all the loose ends around the ranch making sure thing run smoothly!
Its midnight on October 19th and I'm turning in for the night with my puppies well at least until 4am or so! Then I have to wake Judy up and be the first one in the family to wish her happy birthday. So its going to be a day of milestones, my pups are already 2 weeks old and Judy is 329 years old remember I'm talking about dog years. There's no way were going to fit 329 candles on a birthday cake, oh I have a idea I just remember one time when I was an under cover service dog I saw these number candles all we have to do is buy the numbers three, two and nine. First thing in the morning I will give Nero some cash to go pick the candles up. All he has to do is jump the fence and go a few miles to the market. Wait! I can't send him he only speaks German he would probably bring back a bratwurst. I better send John instead he can use his ATM card and I can save my cash for some puppy toys, because were going to need them around here soon. Next week the ranch will have a lot of new sounds coming from the puppy room growling and barking and tumbling yes I said tumbling ! I know my off spring it can get noise once they look in a mirror and notice there German Shepherds they will start playing K9 Cops and robbers. So please stay tune and hold on it will be one wild ride!
Tonight my pups finished up nursing and were actually relaxing all around me. Since their eyes are open its a whole new world for them. You can notice them thinking about what's around them. They really like staring each other down and start barking at one another. All this means is in around one more week this puppy box is going to turn into a boxing ring! And in the Blue corner weighing in at 4 lbs. is Big Boy and in the Red corner weighing in at 5lbs is Big Girl. Ding Ding it's on they will start to bob n weave getting there best puppy moves in well their brother and sister cheer them on! Really this is better then watching one of my favorite shows the only problem is I can't pause it if I have to run outside for a bathroom break! I can't wait for the next few weeks the pups are going to start showing me there personalities.
